Daneen Ashworth

What is your name and occupation?

Daneen Ashworth, HR Consultant, President
Compass HR – HR Solutions in Southern Californiawww.mycompasshr.com

What is your ideal client?

Any business with 1-49 employees (I do take larger clients as well)

What is your purpose/what do you stand for/what is your passion?

Running a business is hard work.  Adding in the ever-changing landscape of HR makes things even more complicated.  It is my passion to take that duty off of my clients’ to do lists so that they can focus on becoming profitable and productive.

What are your hobbies?

Reading, cooking, and hiking.

What were your childhood hobbies?

Reading, cooking, playing school and office.

What is the most recent audacious thing you did?

I stood up for what I want in business.

What is the most audacious thing you’ve ever done?

I started my own business.

How and why do you invest in your health?

How:  Chiropractic, essential oils, supplements, exercise.

Why:  I have to feel good and be at the top of my game.

If you could tell 15 year old you one piece of advice that you learned since then, what would it be?

Have fun, be good and stay hire-able.

What is your favorite thing about what you do?

Teaching, advocating, and my relationships with my awesome clients.

What started you on what you do for a living?

As I was selling payroll, I realized that many business owners do not know the legal requirements for having employees.  I opened up to teach them and help.  Small business is the heart of our community.  If they are not educated, they will diminish which will hurt all of us.  It is hard enough to open a business in California, let alone to keep up with the many requirements and regulations.

I always say that I help amazing and wonderful people get well and stay well so that they can focus on what they love and make their impact on the world. What impact do you hope to make on the world?

I would love to see the Legislators in California make laws that allow employees and employers to have more flexible schedules.  Right now, there is not much flexibility that is allowed.  In doing this, business owners and employees would have the freedom to be awesome.

How has upper cervical chiropractic care helped you/allowed you to be your best you and make more of an impact?

Relieved pain, increased immunity, better energy; essentially it allows me to always operate at 150% (much to the dismay of my mom who says I work too hard).

How do you push past self doubt and fear of failure?

I just focus on the next step.  I just keep taking one step at a time.  Sometimes it is a leap, sometimes it is a tiptoe.

If you could make one change to the world, what would it be?

Better workplaces.

What is something everyone should know about you?

I am crazy, proud of my two kids and am much more audacious than I ever thought possible.
